Internationale VHS-Formate

VHS-Videos im PAL-Format lassen sich auf den meisten Videospielern in Europa, Australien, China und Teilen des Mittleren Ostens abspielen.

Das NTSC-Format (60Hz) wird in Nordamerika und Japan verwendet. NTSC-Bänder lassen sich nicht in Ländern abspielen, die PAL, SECAM oder andere Standards haben. ABER: Viele moderne Videorekorder emulieren NTSC und können NTSC-Bänder abspielen.

Das SECAM-Format ist nur in Frankreich gebräuchlich.

International VHS Formats

PAL-format VHS tapes will work on most players in Europe, Australia, China, and parts of the Middle East.

The NTSC format, 60Hz, is the video format used in North America and Japan. NTSC videotapes will not work on most videocassette players in countries that use PAL, SECAM, or other video standards if the video player does not emulate NTSC. Many modern players emulate NTSC (they can play the tapes, but do not record in NTSC format). Please look up your manual.

SECAM-format VHS tapes will work on players in France.
