Alec Monopoly (= Alec Andon) is an American street artist who has made Mr. Monopoly, the famous mascot of the board game of the same name, the main motif of his work. Using the visual language of consumer culture, media and pop art, the artist ironizes capitalist structures in a subversive way. Although Monopoly's true identity is unknown, it is believed that he was born in 1986 in New York into a family of artists. Monopoly cites surrealist Salvador Dalí and graffiti artists Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat as models for his work.
